Um 8.00 Uhr morgens trafen sich die Mitglieder der CSU zum jährlichen Vereinsausflug der Rotter CSU. Da alle recht pünktlich waren, ging es dann auch ohne Verspätung mit dem Bus zunächst in Richtung Kelheim. Nach rd. zweistündiger Fahrt erreichte die Gruppe den Parkplatz an der Befreiungshalle, die von König Ludwig I. im Jahr 1863 nach 25jähriger Bauzeit eröffnet worden war und an die napoleonischen Befreiungskriege erinnert. Weiter ging es dann zum Weißen Bräuhaus in der Altstadt von Kelheim, wo ein gutes Mittagessen mit Weißbierspezialitäten auf die Reisegruppe wartete. Die Zeit bis zur Abfahrt des Schiffs nach Kloster Weltenburg nutzten viele der Mitglieder noch für eine Besichtigung der Kelheimer Altstadt. Nach einer 40minütigen, entspannten Schifffahrt über die Donau und den sogenannten "Donaudurchbruch" war das Kloster Weltenburg erreicht, wo die Klosterkirche besichtigt und das berühmte Klosterbier verkostet werden konnte. Gegen 20.00 Uhr endete der Ausflug auf dem Marktplatz in Rott, der bei schönem Wetter viele interessante Eindrücke vermittelt hatte.
