Diskussionen im damaligen Gemeinderat wo Blattenberger immer wieder der um Ausgleich bemühte Vermittler war. Wer, wenn nicht Franz Blattenberger, hat es verdient, auf solche Weise geehrt zu werden? Fragte der Ortsvorsitzende Wast Mühlhuber bei seiner Gratulation. Seit 54 Jahren ist Blattenberger schon Mitglied der CSU, viele Jahre saß er für die CSU im Rotter Gemeinderat und war Erster Vorsitzender des CSU-Ortsverbandes. Auf Grund seiner sozialen Einstellung und kaum zu übertreffenden Hilfsbereitschaft erfreut sich Blattenberger einer überaus großen Beliebtheit. Dass es ihm und seiner Frau noch lagen gut gehen möge wünscht Mühlhuber dem Jubilar und überreichte ihm zusammen mit seinem Stellvertreter Franz Ametsbichler einen großen Korb „Selbstgemachtem“ über das sich der „Feinschmecker“ Franz Blattenberger sichtlich freute.

Grund zum Feiern gab es beim CSU-Ortsverband von Rott am Inn. Franz Blattenberger, ein „Urgestein“ wurde 90 Jahre alt. Die Vorstandschaft des Ortsverbandes lud zu diesem Anlass ein zu einem Ehrenabend. Nicht nur seine Freunde aus dem Ortsverband haben sich eingefunden, auch die beiden Landtagsabgeordneten Klaus Stöttner und Otto Lederer reihten sich in die Schar der Gratulanten ein und als besondere Überraschung gab sich auch der frühere Landtagsabgeordnete Sepp Ranner mit seiner Frau die Ehre. Ranner erinnerte bei seiner Laudatio an seine Zeiten als Landtagsabgeordneter wo es für ihn besonders wichtig war, Leute wie Franz Blattenberger sozusagen „an der Basis“ zu haben, die die Stimmung im Volk einfingen so dass er, Ranner, Politik für das Volk betreiben konnte.
